Abstract: Objective To explore the application of phased health education combined with 5E rehabilitation nursing in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the emergency intensive care room (EICU) and its impact on their quality of life. Methods Seventy-eight patients with CHD who underwent PCI in the EICU in our hospital from June 2020 to March 2021 were enrolled in the study. The patients were divided into two groups (with 39 cases in each group) using a random number table. The control group received conventional intervention after PCI, while the observation group received phased health education combined with 5E rehabilitation nursing in addition to the conventional intervention. The two groups were compared for the intervention effects. Results After the intervention, the scores of heart function and exercise tolerance were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Furthermore, the scores of the quality of life and self-management were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Phased health education combined with 5E rehabilitation nursing in patients with CHD who have undergone PCI in the EICU can significantly improve patients' heart function, self-management behaviors, and quality of life.
