Objective
Toinvestigate the effect of health education using WeChat platform in patients in the perioperative periodofpercutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods
A total of 100 patients who underwentPCI in Department of Cardiology in a grade A tertiary hospital were enrolled and divided into observation group and control group using a random number table, with 50 patients ineach group. The patients in the control group received routine health education, and those in the observation group received health education using WeChat platform in addition to the routine health education in the control group. The two groups were compared in terms of awareness rate of health knowledge, degree of satisfaction with health education, and somatization symptom score.
Results
Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly higher awareness rate of health knowledgeand degree of satisfaction with health education and a significantly lower somatization symptom score(P<0.05).
Conclusion
In patients in the perioperative period of PCI,health education usingWeChat platform can improve their awareness rate of related health knowledge, degree of satisfaction with such health education, somatization symptoms, and treatment compliance. It can also improve the efficiency of health education among nurses and thus reach the goal of homogeneous education.
