Clinical effect of atorvastatin calcium versus rosuvastatin in treatment of hyperlipidemia

Abstract: Objective Toinvestigate the clinical effect of atorvastatin calcium versus rosuvastatin in the treatment of hyperlipidemia and their influence on hepatic and renal function, myocardial enzyme, and blood glucose. Methods The clinical data of 68 patients with hyperlipidemia were collected, and these patients were divided into atorvastatin calcium group and rosuvastatin group, with 34 patients in each group. The two groups were compared in terms of triglyceride, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein, total bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, creatine kinase-MB, uric acid, creatinine, urea nitrogen, and fasting blood glucose before and after treatment. Results Both groups had significant reductions in triglyceride, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein after treatment (P<0.05), while there were no significant changes in high-density lipoprotein, fasting blood glucose, and myocardial enzyme after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion Atorvastatin calcium and rosuvastatin have a similar effect in reducingtriglyceride, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein, with little influence on liver and renal function, myocardial zymogram, and blood glucose.
