Objective To investigate the effect of targeted intervention on symptom improvement and clinical outcome in community residents with prehypertension. Methods A statistical analysis was performed for the clinical data of 80 patients with prehypertension collected from April 2015 to April 2017, and according to the method of intervention, they were divided into targeted intervention group and conventional intervention group, with 40 patients in each group. symptom improvement and clinical outcome were observed for both groups. Results Compared with the conventional intervention group, the targeted intervention group had significantly higher scores of diet control as planned, exercise increase, smoking cessation, and alcohol limiting (P<0.05) and significantly lower systolic pressure and diastolic pressure (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional intervention, targeted intervention can better improve the symptoms and clinical outcome of community residents with prehypertension, and therefore, it holds promise for clinical application.
